What are Object Queries

Object Queries are global objects used in Informatica to search for repository objects that meet specified condition. Object queries can be run through Designer, Workflow manager or Repository Manager. Repository returns result based on conditions given by the Object query.
                       
Object Queries mainly does the following tasks:
  • Object queries are used to find object relationships .For example locate parent and child dependencies, shortcut dependencies, and primary and foreign key relationships.
  • Object queries used to locate invalidated Objects
  • Object queries can be associated with Deployment groups
  • Object queries are used to track versioned objects
  • Object queries are used to find deleted version of objects
